Gendwaar: Doorway to Gender Information in South Asia (ongoing)

Collaborators: Promoted jointly by Centre for Women’s Development Studies (New Delhi) and SNDT Women’s University Library (Mumbai), the project is financially supported during the initial period by the Harvard School of Public Health, University of Harvard, Mass. USA.

The project is conceived as a participatory one and welcomes collaboration from other organizations working on gender issues in the region - viz. Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

BOL: An Electronic Discussion List on Gender Issues in South Asia (ongoing)

The Library initiated BOL - an Electronic Discussion List, in January 2000, as the partner project of Global Reproductive Health Forum network of the Department of Population and International Health, Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, USA on Gender Issues in South Asia.

The Global Reproductive Health Forum (completed 2000)

GRHF South Asia Site seeks to bring together discourses on reproductive health and women's rights that are of particular interest and concern in the South Asian region. This site serves as a pinnacle for accessing current research on a variety of topics related to women's issues. Much of the information originates from South Asian organizations and universities. This provides a forum in which academics, scholars, and activists can disseminate their works to an international audience.

Forums - South Asia forum is a unique electronic network and on-line publishing venture that brings together organizations, groups and individuals in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan concerned with reproductive health and other issues pertaining to gender and health.

In-depth modules on topics such as Domestic Violence, Dowry, Violence Against Women, and Injectable Contraceptives prepared by the Centre for Women's Development Studies, New Delhi.

CWDS Library ICT Projects

From time to time the Library is approached by various agencies - national and international to take up some research information related projects in the area of Women’s Studies. These projects have been for contents creations on the World Wide Web in the context of Indian research information, creating an Information Gateway and reaching out the Global research community through an Electronic Discussion List.
