Project name: Menstrual Health and Climate Change (MHCC) – An Exploratory Study in Delhi

Call for the Consultant – Research Assistant – 1 Post

Duration: 16th Nov 2026 – 31st March 2027

About the Research Project: Menstruation is a natural bodily process, but symptoms such as pain, bloating, mood swings, and fatigue vary. Although menstrual products and poverty are well studied, few studies examine adolescents’ and young women’s menstrual health and related disorders. Climate change poses severe risks to girls and women. In India, hot days and nights are increasing, yet research on how extreme weather—heat, severe cold, unseasonal rain, and air pollution—affects menstrual health in low- and middle-income countries remains limited. This study examines the menstrual health of adolescent girls and young women in urban Delhi and explores its intersection with climate change-related Extreme Weather Events (EWE), and how EWE affects the lives of adolescent girls and young adult women in urban spaces such as Delhi.
